Electrocoagulation
A Safe and Effective Treatment for Skin Blemishes
Electrocoagulation is a specialized procedure for treating cherry angiomas, broken capillaries (telangiectasia), and other vascular skin blemishes. These conditions often present as small, red spots or visible blood vessels beneath the skin's surface, which can be unsightly and, in some cases, prone to bleeding if traumatized.
How Does Electrocoagulation Work?
During the electrocoagulation procedure, a highly trained technician uses an electrolysis machine equipped with a fine probe which delivers high-voltage, low-current electricity directly to the affected area. The electricity generates heat that coagulates the blood within the dilated vessels, effectively destroying them. Over time, the body naturally absorbs and eliminates the unused capillaries, leaving the skin clearer and more even-toned.
The number of treatments required is determined on a case-by-case basis. We offer a free consultation where a trained technician will assess your skin condition and discuss the best treatment plan for you. Post-treatment care varies depending on individual skin issues and will be thoroughly explained by your technician either during the consultation or on the day of your procedure.
Conditions Treated with Electrocoagulation:
Cherry Angiomas: Small, bright red, dome-shaped vascular blemishes that lie just under the skin's surface.
Broken Capillaries (Telangiectasia): Tiny, dilated blood vessels visible through the skin, often appearing on the face.
Rudy Points: Bright red, slightly raised vascular blemishes that are often mistaken for cherry angiomas.
Why Choose Electrocoagulation?
Electrocoagulation is a safe, non-invasive, and highly effective treatment for eliminating embarrassing skin blemishes that do not go away on their own. Unlike other treatments, it is virtually painless, with most patients experiencing only a slight pricking sensation during the procedure. The results are remarkable, often visible after just one to three short sessions, each lasting between five to fifteen minutes.
